3D internal structure of a commercially available type of carbon-fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). Aside of the large amount of high dense particles in this volume negatively affecting the material's strength, the nano-CT scan at a voxel size of 168 nm provides excellent visualisation of individual fibers, binding material, pores and air inclusions.
